This policy explains what information Makhana Box ("we", "us") collects when you browse this site or place an order, and how we use it. We're a small, WhatsApp-first business — we don't run a checkout system or a marketing database, so what we collect is deliberately limited to what's needed to get your order to you.
What we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- When you order or message us on WhatsApp — your name, phone number, delivery address, and the details of your order. This is the same information you'd give any small business over a phone call.
- When you use the contact form on this site — your name, email address, and the message you send us.
We don't currently run an online checkout or payment gateway, so we don't collect or store card numbers, UPI IDs, or other payment credentials — payment is arranged directly with you over WhatsApp (cash on delivery or UPI paid straight to us).
Cart data stored on your device
The flavours/quantities you add to your cart are stored locally in your browser (via localStorage), not on our servers. This is purely so your cart survives moving between pages — we have no visibility into it until you tap "Place Final Order," which opens WhatsApp with your order pre-filled for you to send.
How we use your information
- To confirm, pack and ship your order.
- To answer questions you send us on WhatsApp, email, or the contact form.
- To resolve issues with an order (damaged, missing, or incorrect items).
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising or send marketing messages you haven't asked for.
Who we share it with
We share only what's needed to fulfil your order:
- Delivery/courier partners — your name, phone number and address, to deliver your pouch.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — your order conversation happens on WhatsApp's platform, governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and, on the Contact page, an embedded Google Map. Both are served from Google's infrastructure, which may log standard technical data (like your IP address) as part of serving that request — this is Google's data handling, not ours; see Google's privacy policy for details.
How long we keep it
We keep order and conversation history only as long as needed to fulfil your order and handle any follow-up (like a replacement or refund request), and as required for our own accounting/tax records.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing sales@makhanabox.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
This site and our products aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
